Our thanks to the Meadow shopping centre, Bracknell for granting us permission to shake buckets in the face of their customers last Sunday!
The day was a huge success, with a total of £623.17,
€0.7 & 5rand kindly donated by the public.
The spoon provided the literature, florescent bibs, display walls, banners, the lot, all we needed was a little charisma and perhaps the more probable ability to beg for money. Better late than never, up stepped Mr Tilley, not so much known for his charisma, but there are many a lady who will testify to his begging ability - the stage was set!
With the success at Bracknell, up comes Weybridge on the 21st & 22nd June, watch this space!

Today the lads had the opportunity to train together for the first time, what with the lads living in different parts of the country and Mr Tilley's busy social life, meeting until now has not been possible! An encouraging 1 1/2 hour run, but is it too little too late?
We begain our run at the foot of box hill near Dorking and it quickly became evident as to why this particular route is know as the knacker cracker! A steep climb began at pace, but soon dwindled to a brisk walk and then moved onto what can only be described as a slow crawl. The climb over, the catch of breath and the boys continued the rest of the 6 mile run at a good pace. An overall good run, but I think we all agree, much work still needs to be done prior to the event, lets hope we can continue the effort!

So with little under 14 weeks remaining until the event kicks off, is this team likely to set any records on the hills, or will their ever increasing waist lines and distinct lack of training be their downfall! Much effort is going to be required to complete this years challenge, let alone be able to post respectale climbing times. The lads are committed to the cause and training has commenced (albeit slowly), you can monitor the lads progress here all forms of encouragement most welcome :-)
